AllDrafts
AcquiredCloud-based contract editor with AI-assisted drafting, collaboration, and e-signature.
AllDrafts was a cloud-based contract editor built to replace the painful cycle of emailing Word documents back and forth between attorneys, clients, and counterparties. It handled the entire lifecycle of a contract---from first draft to final signature---in the browser.
The Problem
Legal professionals spend enormous amounts of billable time on mechanical document tasks: fixing formatting, generating redlines, managing version history, and exporting to PDF for signature. Clients pay for this inefficiency. AllDrafts was built out of frustration with this reality---the belief that 1990s-era document workflows had no place in modern legal practice.
What It Did
- Purpose-built editor --- Designed specifically for contracts, not adapted from a general word processor
- Automatic formatting --- Cross-references, numbering, and defined terms managed automatically
- Revision tracking --- Full history of every change, with one-click redline generation against any prior version
- Real-time collaboration --- Multiple parties working in the same document simultaneously
- Built-in e-signature --- No need to export and re-import through a separate signing service
- AI-assisted drafting --- Intelligent suggestions used as an assistive tool, not a replacement for attorney judgment
- Clause library --- Reusable language blocks for consistent, efficient drafting
Outcome
AllDrafts was acquired in 2026. The product demonstrated that legal technology could meaningfully reduce the time attorneys spend on document mechanics---lowering costs for clients and freeing lawyers to focus on the substance of their work.
